"I had been a Service Desk Consultant since my first year of study at CUHK. It
was challenging yet rewarding. I think the most challenging aspect of this job was
dealing with people. Sometimes users came with irritation for certain reasons. I had
to listen to their needs with extra patience, diagnose the problems they encountered
and finally provide them with solutions. It was really satisfying to see users leaving
our Service Desk with smiley faces. In addition to the routine jobs at the Service
Desk, I got opportunities to involve in the SCA recruitment and train junior SCAs. All
these valuable experiences did enrich my life at CUHK."

"I want to be a multimedia designer in the future and I hope my work experience
at ITSC could be a credit. I am so happy and lucky to have a nice supervisor
here. I have learnt a lot from him, not only about multimedia techniques, but also
independent thinking and time management skills. Although sometimes my schedule
is so tight that I have to handle my studies as well as the design work there, I still
enjoy it very much. The Learning Technology Studio is equipped with a number of
advanced multimedia facilities, which I can use to sharpen my skills."

"My job at the Student IT Competence Programme has two parts – IT Test
invigilation and self-learning lesson tutoring. Being a tutor in self-learning lessons
is more challenging since it requires comprehensive computing skills, quick
responses, good communication skills, and most importantly, patience. What makes
me feel satisfied is that the students could solve their queries when preparing for the
IT Test and even learn more than that. After my 3-year work here, I find my verbal
communication skills have improved. I am now confident about using different
languages like English and Putonghua to communicate with others and believe
the communication skills I have gained at ITSC could enhance my performance in
future job interviews."
