The following programmes are open for applications:

 

CUHK Outgoing Exchange Programmes 2017-18

 

(Summer 2016-17 / Regular Term-time 2017-18)

 

CUHK has partnerships with over 260 institutions from around the world to provide students with diverse exchange opportunities. A series of outreach activities such as Roadshows, Information Sessions, and International Exchange Week will be organised to enhance students’ understanding of the exchange programmes.

 

Application for Outgoing Exchange Programmes 2017-18 will open in October 2016. The Office of Academic Links (OAL) will soon announce the application procedures and guidelines. Interested students should keep an eye out for updates on OAL’s website.

Research Summit Series 2016-17

 

The University has launched a Research Summit Series as a new initiative to support the organisation of workshops catered to early career faculty members with a view to strengthening the development of its faculty members and the visibility and reputation of the University. Application for funding support for workshops to be held in 2016-17 is now open. An award of up to HK$250,000 will be provided to the selected applications. All faculties, departments and units are welcome to apply. The details of the programme are highlighted as follows:

Faculty and PhD Students Mobility Schemes 2016-17

 

The Internationalisation Faculty Mobility Schemes and PhD Student Mobility Schemes for 2016-17 are inviting applications. Applications should reach the Office of Academic Links by 15 November 2016.

 

A. Internationalisation Faculty Mobility Schemes (for faculty members)

The schemes aim to promote the international exposure of faculty members and the development of strategic and research partnerships with overseas universities. Faculty members are encouraged to apply to these schemes to undertake/host research visits during 1 January - 31 July 2017. The respective programme guidelines and application forms are available for download from the following links:

B. PhD Student Exchange Programme (for CUHK PhD students)

 

The programme aims to enhance research excellence at CUHK through building and strengthening the University’s ties with selected partner institutions and to increase the visibility of CUHK as a world-class research university through student mobility. Selected CUHK PhD students will receive a sponsorship of HK$15,000-HK$50,000. PhD students are encouraged to apply to these schemes to undertake short-term research attachments during 1 January - 31 August 2017. Faculty and PhD Students Mobility Schemes 2016-17

 

The Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) is inviting applications from PhD students and Post-Docs of CUHK for a research scholarship programme. The programme provides support to PhD students and Post-Docs undertaking short-term research attachments at one of the EPU member institutions in Austria.

 

Terms of Award

  • Duration of visit: 1-9 months
  • Value of award:
  • €940 per month for PhD students
  • €1,040 per month for Post-Docs
  • The award is meant to cover insurance, housing, visa, daily-life and travel expenditures. Recipients will receive an additional travel subsidy of up to €730.
  • Recipients are exempted from tuition fees.
  • The Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research will provide support on accident and health insurance as well as accommodation.

  • To showcase CUHK’s research strengths and its leadership role in specific research fields internationally.
  • To attract talented early career researchers to join the University.

 

 

 

Workshop Format

  • The workshop should have a cutting-edge theme and provide engaging activities centering on networking and training.
  • The workshop should cater to a small and elite group of early career faculty members and advanced PhD students from CUHK and abroad, preferably not more than 50 participants.
