Gordon Research Conferences 2015 gathers over 600 scientists at CUHK
CUHK has been one of the two hosting sites in Hong Kong for the world-renowned Gordon Research Conferences (GRC) meetings for four consecutive years since 2012. In the summer of 2015, five GRC meetings and a Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) were held between 23 May and 26 June, bringing together some 610 scientists with common research interests to come together for a full week of intense discussion and examination of frontier research in five topics. The meetings included ‘Superconductivity’, ‘Germinal Stem Cell Biology’, ‘Genome Architecture in Cell Fate and Disease’, ‘Infections of the Nervous System’ and ‘Neutron Scattering’. The GRS on ‘Superconductivity’ is specifically designed for graduate students and post-docs.
CUHK will serve as the hosting site for six GRC meetings and two GRS in June and July 2016. One of the meetings, ‘Advanced Health Informatics’, will be co-chaired by Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost, and Prof. Nitish Thakor, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University. CUHK faculty members are encouraged to participate in the GRC meetings. For more details about the meetings in 2016, please click here.
