Events management service rendered for academic and research units

In support of the University’s internationalisation efforts to strengthen its international presence and the development of academic and research partnerships, an International Events Team at the Office of Academic Links (OAL) has been set up to provide events management and consultancy services to assist academic and research units in planning and organising conferences on campus. In 2014-15, the team supported the following events and provided services ranging from arrangement of venue, accommodation, catering and transportation to the setting up of online registration system, design and production of printing materials and conference items, and on-site support.

• CUHK-MIT Joint Workshop on E-learning and Big Data (25-26 March 2015): hosted by the Stanley Ho Big Data Decision Analytics Research Centre with over 150 delegates.

• WUN Annual General Meeting 2015 (25-30 April 2015): hosted by OAL, some 400 delegates including the Network’s leadership joined the event.

• Gordon Research Conferences (23 May-26 June 2015): hosted by OAL, some 610 scientists gathered for intense discussion in five meetings and a Gordon Research Seminar.

• AGU Chapman Conference on Evolution of the Asian Monsoon and its Impact on Landscape, Environment and Society: Using the Past as the Key to the Future (14-18 June 2015): some 90 participants took part in the event organised by the Institute of Environment, Energy and Sustainability.

• The 9th Asia Academy of Management and the 8th Taiwan Academy of Management Joint Conference - ‘Innovation for and from Asian Emerging Markets’ (22-24 June 2015): hosted by the Department of Management and Center for International Business Studies, the event attracted around 220 academics and students.
