CUHK receives the 2013 Hong Kong Awards for
Environmental Excellence Gold Award from Mr. Wong Kam

In fact, the BYO Bottle sponsorship
that CPSO launched since
2013
has
received overwhelming support from
the organising committees of O'Camp.
Other examples include working with
the CUHK Green World on the water
map project to upload water dispenser
locations to the University's online campus map and CUHK
Mobile App, now an important tool for the University's
'Bring Your Own Bottle' campaign; actively supporting
projects by 'CU x Rubbish' to facilitate 'freecycling' and
waste reduction initiatives on campus, and 'Clean the
Plate', a campaign by CUHK Green World to reward
students at canteens for being mindful of food waste.
These and many more creative and practical initiatives spice
up campus life and bring life to green concepts.
The green touch of our students and offices can
be found all over the University. As a testimony to
our accomplishments, the University has received
the Gold Award for the 'Public Organisations and
Utilities Sector' of the
2013
'Hong Kong Awards for
Environmental Excellence' (HKAEE), becoming the only
public organisation to have won the award twice in
the sector.
We have truly come a long way these fifty years. As
we continue our founders' mission to make CUHK
greener - both physically and culturally - we remain
f i rm i n t he be l i e f t ha t t oge t he r we wi l l make i t
happen. The best is yet ahead and we look forward to
every small green step made by every single student
which could allow us to stand a better chance for a
sustainable future.
