worked in a laboratory in Spanish National Centre for Biotechnology
for 3 months, learning research technique and skills, experiencing
the laboratory culture there, and most excitingly, having cultural
exchange with scientists from Spain, Italy, Greece and Mexica.
Other than working in the laboratory, it was a good opportunity for
me to explore and appreciate Madrid. Madrid is a multicultural city,
in which people were coming from different countries all over the
world. I was told that nearly 90% of the residents there are actually
foreigners, which gave me quite a shock. I thought Hong Kong
was an international city, and definitely not “international” enough
when compared with Madrid. I hope someday I will visit this lovely
city again.
